directions_bus Don't be surprised if you are asked to show passports for purchasing long-distance bus tickets in Argentina.
I'll return to Perito Moreno Clacier in the Los Glaciares National Park for the chance to see the magnificent glacier again, to trek on ice and to witness the crashing of the ice, if luck strikes. To trek the glacier, book either an English-speaking or Spanish-speaking tour with Hielo&Aventura in El Calafate, the nearest city. Daily excursion departs from Hielo&Aventura's office in El Calafate, or you can be picked up and dropped off at your hotel. After the guided tour, you can also get up and close with the glacier on the observation deck next to the visitor center where you will find food and restrooms.
El Chalten is the trekking capital of Argentina. I'll return to hike more. And for better weather next time, maybe? Being soaking wet and not seeing Monte Fitz Roy is not an experience I'd like to repeat. The hiking trails are well marked and easy to navigate here. You can stop by the ranger station (which is a required stop if you take a bus into town from El Calafate) for more information.
I'll return to El Ateneo Grand Splendid for a "theatrical" browsing experience. This beautiful bookstore resides in the restored Grand Splendid Theater, which opened in May 1919.

I'll return to Parrilla Pena for any steak. They sure know how to grill it right.

Chimichurri sauce is commonly used as a condiment or a marinade for grilled steaks in Argentina. There are many different versions. You can improvise to suit your own taste. It goes well with grilled chicken too.
