The Chilean national drink is the pisco sour!

Torres del Paine National Park | Parque Nacional Torres del Paine

When you first set foot here, the immediate thing that reminds you of being in the wilderness is the howling wind. And yet, I'll return to Torres del Paine to hike more amid its wild beauty. Puerto Natales is the nearest town. This is where you join a tour, organize the famed W trek or the O trek with a guide, or hire an outfitter maybe, depending on what you plan to do in the park. There are very few lodging options and facilities inside the park. If glamping is your cup of tea, you can consider booking with EcoCamp Patagonia. At any rate, you are far from civilization at this corner of Patagonia, so remember to purchase travel insurance before you come!

If you catch a glimpse of the elusive puma, consider yourself very lucky.

Lago Grey & Grey Glacier

If you want to experience seeing blue ice up close and be inches away from the edge of a glacier and touch it, you can consider taking the Grey Glacier boat tour. One-way or round-trip excursions depart from Hotel Lago Grey's pier. One-way trips are designed to provide a link between Hotel Lago Grey and Grey Refuge, part of Torres del Paine's trekking circuit. Only round-trip and one-way tickets from Grey Refuge include a visit to Grey Glacier. And the bonus of the boat ride is a pisco sour with ice from Grey Glacier!
